Koyote Kennels

Koyote Kennels Shiba Inu is a very small select show and breeding kennel just west of Calgary, Alberta. We have a litter once or twice a year. Our Shiba puppies are raised in the house with lots of care and love.

I have lived with dogs all of my life and acquired my first Shiba in 1991. I have been a member of the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) since 1995 and I have been a member of Shiba Inu Canada since its inception. I am a member of the National Shiba Club of America and have gained valuable knowledge from highly reputable breeders of champion Shibas in Canada, Japan, and the United States. I am honoured to be working closely with these breeders and their beautiful US/Japanese import dogs. This relationship will allow me to continue to enhance my show quality Shiba Inus. I have a Japanese Nippo Membership, and my Nippo Kennel name is Koyhote Sou which means House of Fox Paw. A goal of mine was to add a Nippo Shiba Inu line of dogs to our kennel. Since my original goal I'm proud to have an Elite Nippo lineage. My dogs originate from long time well-known breeders in Japan. Another goal was to attend the BSA shiba specialty show in California. This show hires only highly trained Nippo judges. It was a thrilling honour to have Hoshi win Best in Show at this prestigious event.

Hoshi and I flew to Paris in summer 2011 to attend the 100th anniversary of the World Dog Show. Although I know that Hoshi wasn't as excited as I was to see the Eiffel tower, the whole experience for me was thrilling. You rock Hoshi!

As of 2026, I'll also be a 30-year lifetime member of the Canadian Kennel Club, which I am very proud of. As a reputable Canadian Kennel Club member and Permanently Registered Breeder
