Breeder Terms
Last updated: September 9, 2026
These Breeder Terms apply in addition to our Terms of Service, which govern everyone’s use of the Platform. They apply to you from the moment you hold a Breeder account. Words defined in the Terms of Service have the same meaning here.
Read the two together: the Terms of Service cover your account, the content you post, what you may and may not do on the Platform, our liability and how disputes are handled. These Breeder Terms cover the things that apply only because you are a Breeder — verification and certification, your Subscription, receiving payments, and your Listings. Where these Breeder Terms conflict with the Terms of Service, these Breeder Terms apply to your Breeder account.

B1. Verification and Paction Certification
Verification
We may verify Members’ contact details, and we ask Breeders to confirm their identity by providing a photo of a government-issued identification document. Verification confirms that the details a Member gave us match what they provided; it is not a background check, we do not obtain criminal-record or other registry reports, and a verified badge is not an endorsement or a guarantee of anyone’s conduct.
Paction Certification
Breeders may apply to become a Paction Certified Breeder. Certification is based on our review of the documentation and information the Breeder provides against the Paction Certification Conditions, which Breeders accept when they apply, and which are described on our certification program page. Certified Breeders may display the certification badge on their profile.
Certification is our assessment of what a Breeder has shown us at the time of review. It is not a warranty about any dog, and it does not replace a Buyer’s own diligence. We may decline, suspend or revoke certification at any time if we believe a Breeder no longer meets the conditions.
B2. Subscriptions and billing
Breeder features — including a public Breeder profile, Listings, introductions to interested Buyers and Breeder messaging — are available only while a Subscription is active. Buyer accounts are free.
Plans and renewal
Subscriptions are offered on monthly, quarterly and annual billing periods. The price of each plan and the taxes that apply are shown before you subscribe. Your Subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and the payment method you have on file is charged the then-current price for your plan, until you cancel.
Taxes
Subscription fees are subject to GST/HST and, where applicable, provincial sales tax (PST, RST or QST) based on the province of your billing address. Tax is calculated and shown at checkout and on each invoice.
Cancelling
You can cancel your Subscription at any time through the billing portal in your account settings, or by emailing support@paction.ca. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing period you have already paid for: you keep full access until then, and you are not charged again. We do not refund fees for the unused part of a billing period, except where the law requires it or we agree to it in a particular case.
Price changes
We may change the price of a plan. The new price applies from your next renewal. If you do not want to pay it, cancel before that renewal.
Failed payments and lapsed Subscriptions
If a renewal payment fails, we and our payment processor may retry it. While a Subscription is unpaid or has ended, Breeder features are unavailable: your profile and Listings may be hidden from Buyers and you will not receive new introductions. Your data is retained as described in our Privacy Policy so that you can pick up where you left off if you resubscribe.
Trials and promotions
We may offer free or discounted periods at our discretion. Any conditions are stated when the offer is made. Unless the offer says otherwise, a Subscription started under an offer renews at the regular price for the plan once the offer period ends.
B3. Receiving payments
If you enable payments, you can use the Platform to request deposits and payments from Buyers for puppies, litters and waitlist places. You receive funds through a Stripe connected account and agree to Stripe’s terms for that account. Paction does not hold Members’ funds and is not a bank, money transmitter or escrow service.
The platform fee described in the Terms of Service applies on both sides, so the fee plus applicable tax is deducted from the amount paid out to you. The current rate is shown before a payment is confirmed.
You set your own deposit, cancellation and refund terms, and you must state them clearly to a Buyer before they pay. You can issue full or partial refunds of payments made through the Platform from your Paction account; refunds go back to the original payment method. Paction does not decide whether a refund is owed.
B4. Listings and Breeder obligations
As a Breeder you agree that:
- you will only list dogs that you bred or own and have the right to sell;
- every Listing and every statement you make about your program, your dogs, their parents, health testing, registrations and availability will be accurate and kept up to date, and you will hold and provide on request the documentation you claim (for example health-testing results or registration papers);
- photos and videos you post are of your own dogs and premises;
- you will comply with every law that applies to your breeding and sales, including animal-welfare and consumer-protection law, the PUPS Act in Ontario and equivalent rules elsewhere, and you will never separate a puppy from its mother before the minimum age the law allows;
- you will respond to Buyers in good faith, honour the deposit, refund and delivery terms you offer, and provide Buyers with the health records and documentation you advertise;
- you will not use Buyer contact details for anything other than the enquiry the Buyer made, and will not add Buyers to marketing lists without their consent.
We may remove a Listing, hide a profile or suspend a Breeder account where we reasonably believe these obligations are not being met.
